What is the Ministry about?
El De'ot Ministries is a para-church organization, with the commission of preaching to the world and teaching the Church, through discipleship programs.
We equip families, communities and churches to intentionally raise disciples of our LORD Jesus Christ.
Does this mean you have left the Methodist Church?
Not at all! I am still a proud Methodist. I will continue to be of service to the Church.
The Lord who calls one into ministry is the one who determines the assignment, its place and timing. El De'ot Ministries is birthed out of the Lord's leading. Wherever He leads, I will follow.
What are some of the activities of El De'ot Ministries?
The Ministry runs on 8 pillars;
1. Family Fellowship
2. Community Fellowship
3. Gates and Courts Service
4. Heavenly Access
5. Preach to the World
6. Teach the Church
7. The Father's Heart
8. Counseling
What is Family Fellowship?
This is the first pillar of the Ministry, with the aim of bringing Jesus Home, literally. We believe that the best place to model Christ is the home. Heads of families (father's) are therefore equipped to take up the responsibility of discipling their children as well as their wives.
In Deuteronomy 6:6-9, the Lord charged the people of Israel to teach his laws diligently to their children. In this text, we see that the home is the centre of raising godly seeds unto the Lord.
It could be anything between 30minutes to an hour, daily, where the family comes together in prayer and the study of God's Word.
What is Community Fellowship?
Christians who subscribe to our family fellowship model gets to connect with other Christians within the same community on a weekly basis.
This allows for the practice of Acts 2:42, which reads, "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Regardless of Church denomination, believers in a community can come together and build stronger bonds and a healthy communal living.
What is Gates and Courts Service?
This is a monthly worship only service for our patrons. It is the time we gather together before the Lord with our thanksgiving and adoration. It's name is derived from Psalm 100:4, "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name."
It is also the time we share our testimonies of the Lord's faithfulness. Beyond the finished work of Christ through His shared blood, we also prevail over the enemy through the words of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11)
What is Heavenly Access?
This is our various prayer lines with focus on different prayer feasts. Prayerlessness does not only sink us into pride, it also denies us a say in the court of heaven.
Through prayer, God confirmed this commission with many signs and wonders.
Below are our various prayer feasts;
1. Beautiful Feet: (Isaiah 52:7)
This is a an intercession for the harvest of lost souls into God's Kingdom.
2. God's Heritage: (Psalm 127:3)
This is a time we petition heaven on behalf of childless couples. The first sign God gave in confirming this commission was for me to pray for a childless couple after 14 years of marriage, and they were blessed with a child.
Subsequently, many others in similar situations have come to us in faith and God has blessed them with children.
It is in that grace that this prayer line has been established.
3. Great Awakening: (Hosea 2:12-13)
This is dedicated towards prayer for revival in the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
4. Freedom in Christ: (Mark 16:17-18)
This is a prayer time for healing and deliverance. We have faith in God's ability to heal and to set us free from every oppression of the wicked.
5. Earthly Dominion: (Genesis 1:28)
This is a prayer line dedicated to Kingdom Wealth. God's children must take our rightful places and rule and have dominion as charged by our God.
What is Preach to the World?
All our outreach programs falls under this pillar. Worthy of mention is our sports evangelism strategies, both on the field of play of soccer in our community and behind the screens fighting the menace of sports betting.
At the El De'ot Centre, we allow sports enthusiasts to come and watch their favorite games, while we share the Gospel with them and insist on no betting as a condition to accessing our centre.
From house to house evangelism to outdoor crusades, we proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.
What is Teach the Church?
While we preach to the World, we believe the Church needs teaching rather than preaching, as instructed by our LORD Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:20.
Teach the Church therefore aims at designing discipleship programs for the body of Christ. This way, we become intentional about what matters.
The goal of the believer is to become like Christ, and this can be achieved through effective discipleship. Jesus said in Luke 6:40, "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher."
While the Church has become busy with many other things, teaching souls to obey Jesus' commandments is non negotiable.
What is the Father's Heart?
In Matthew 25:35-36, Jesus gives us a clue of what is of importance to our Father in heaven. He said, "For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’"
Owing to this, we have given prominence to the following special ministries;
1. The Aged/Elderly Ministry
2. Orphans/Widows/Widowers Ministry
3. Hospital Ministry
4. Prisons Ministry
5. Poor and Needy Ministry
