FAQ About Enrico Fermi

Where did Enrico Fermi conduct most of his research?
Enrico Fermi conducted much of his early research in Italy, particularly at the University of Rome. However, due to the political climate in Europe before World War II, Fermi moved to the United States, where he continued his groundbreaking work at institutions such as Columbia University and the University of Chicago. It was at the latter where he oversaw the creation of Chicago Pile-1 and continued his experimental and theoretical physics research.
