FAQ About Friends: Followings and Followers

You can follow any person (a following) to become a friend of that person. Someone (as a follower) may also follow you to become your friend.

If you follow someone, then you will be notified if that person organizes a new event or joins an event. If you are a host, you may encourage your previous guests to follow you. After that, when you organize a new event, they will be automatically notified.

Although the default setting is open for any person to follow another one, you can change “Settings > Follower Settings > Automatic Authorization” to “off” if you prefer to approve all new follow requests manually. By the way, you can remove anyone in your following or follower list if you wish.

Yes, definitely. To remove a following, go to your following list to find that person, and if the button on the right side says “Following,” it means you are currently following that person. If you want to remove that person as one of your followings, just tap on that button, and that button will change to “Follow”; it’s done. You are no longer following that person. If you change your mind, simply tap on that button, and it will change to “following” again. 

Yes. To remove a follower, go to your follower list to find that person, and if the button on the right side says “Connected,” it means that person is currently following you. If you want to remove that person as one of your followers, just tap on that button, and that button will change to “connect”; it’s done. That person is no longer following you. If you change your mind, simply tap on that button, and it will change to “connected” again. 

If you remove someone from your followings, new events from that person won’t notify you. If you remove someone from your followers, new events from you don’t notify that person. That’s all. We don’t notify each other of these connection status updates. Please note that we don’t block that person either. If automatic authorization is on, the connection you removed can be connected again though.

When you follow a person, generally, you will be notified when that person creates or joins a new event. However, that person can remove your connection to avoid the notification being triggered. Please note that when one party removes the connection, we don’t notify the other party.

On your “Friends” page, select “More People”. The people listed there are recommended for you. If any of your Facebook friends become users on our platform, you can also find them there. 

Absolutely no. When you connected to your Facebook account, we requested Facebook to send us the identifiers of your Facebook friends who also use our platform. That’s all. Actually, the Facebook APIs don’t allow us to fetch your Facebook friend list.
