FAQ About The Event Group

An event group is a community for an event. When the host creates an event, an event group attached to it is also created as a social community for that event. All event groups are public; that is, all information about them may be available for browsing even though the user is not logged in.

Only the host can make an announcement in the event group. The announcement may also appear on the event main page if the host chooses to do so. By the way, the host can’t remove an announcement after it’s been published, although it can be marked as obsolete and kept as a record. 

It means the host marked that announcement as out-of-date, and you can simply ignore that announcement. An “obsoleted” announcement is kept because some people in the event group may already have read it, and we don’t simply delete it to avoid confusion. 

Anyone can reply to an announcement. If you have questions related to an announcement, you can simply reply to it, although you can send private messages directly to the host if you don’t want to respond in public.

The host and guests, who are actually the ticket purchasers as well as the ticket holders (after claiming), can make a post or a reply in the event group. 

When posting or replying, you can upload a picture, attach a picture by URL, attach a video by URL, or attach a URL link, as well as any text you want to post. The text posted can be multilingual, if appropriate.

Before attaching a video to a post, please upload that video to a video streaming provider, such as Youtube or Vimeo. After that, you need to get a shared URL link from that site. Then when posting or replying, you can attach a video with that shared URL link, as well as any text you want to post.

No, you can’t. We only support shared video URL links to be attached in a post. Please refer to the previous question.

The album in the event group is a place for the host and guests to share photos with each other. It’s managed by the host. Both the host and guests can upload pictures to the album. However, please do not upload any private pictures to the album. The album is available for browsing in public.

The album feature is optional for the host. The host must enable the album before it’s available to the guests.

If you are a guest, when you upload pictures to the album, you are sending a request to the host to put your pictures in the album. However, before the host picks these pictures for the album, they are not available in public. Only the host can upload pictures directly to the album.

The event group is only for the host and guests of that event. There’s no way to invite someone else to the event group.

Unfortunately, no. Even though only the host and guests of that event are allowed to post on the event group, posts on it being read by the public are not restricted. By the way, posts can be copied or shared with other social communities as well. 

If you intend to share the same event group between events, we recommend you create one event with multiple sessions. You can add a new session to an existing event, and then guests in all sessions will share the same event group. Meanwhile, the albums in the event group are partitioned by sessions. Pictures for different sessions will not be mixed together.

On the main page of an event group, there’s a “Members” button at the top. Tap on it, and all the people in that event group are listed there. You can also follow any member of an event group on that page.

For every post or announcement, there’s a “Share” button at the bottom. Tap on it, and follow the instructions to share the post on Facebook, Twitter, or Line. Please note that sharing with Line may not work on its desktop version.
