Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. The candy-grabbing concept also became mainstream in the U.S. in the early to mid-1900s, during which families would provide treats to children in hopes that they would be immune to any holiday pranks. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question, "Trick or treat?"
