FAQ About Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was born in 1910 in Skopje to Albanian parents. At 18, she joined the Sisters of Loreto in Ireland to learn English. She later moved to India, where she taught at St. Mary's High School in Kolkata. In 1948, she left the convent school to live among the poor, starting the Missionaries of Charity in 1950. She dedicated the rest of her life to serving the sick and impoverished, gaining global recognition for her work.
