No. The house has a digital code lock with a personal code just for your stay. You’ll revive your personal code via AirBnB a few days before your arrival.

Tip! Sometimes the door doesn’t register the first star press - if it doesn’t light up, press the star again firmly before entering the code.

🔊There is an annoying beeping sound coming from the laundry room - help?!

If you hear an occasional beep from the laundry room, the most likely culprit is the water softener! Replenish the calcium tablets in the water softener to get sane.

Please refill with new tablets (in the wardrobe opposite) - fill it to the brim and enjoy a beep-free stay.

🧖🏼‍♀️🧖 I want to take a sauna! How do I get it hot?

Excellent choice! Please beware, if you are from Finland, you will be disappointed. The sauna gets up to 60-70 Celsius - perfect to get warm but not roasted.

  1. close the air outlet top right above the door
  2. turn on the sauna (bottom of the sauna unit). There are two knobs, one for heat (crank it up to max!), one timer (set it for 3 hours / within the red markings)
  3. wait 1,5-2 hours for the sauna to heat
  4. enter the sauna, and pour some water on the stones. Not too much, that will only cool the stones and reduce the heat (..and damage the unit)
  5. after your sauna, open the top right air outlet above the door.

🥶🥵 Too hot / cold!!

Yes, this house's vent/heating tech will probably be featured in NASAs next space shuttle.

Some advice: Always keep the vent knob above the stove at 1 (or 2 when cooking) - never at “min”. That insures a good circulation of air in the house.

In the winter: Too cold or too hot? Send us a message via Airbnb! The heating is controlled via an app and is an automated smart system (but not telepathic yet). If it’s too cold, try heating a fire in the fireplace, it heats the house and is cozy!

In the summer: If it’s too hot, open the windows and doors (but close them before you leave the house - we don’t want burglars or water damage from the rain!). Still too hot? We have an AC, however, the electricity prices are often insane nowadays, so you’ll have to pay extra for it. If you use the AC, be sure to close all doors and keep ‘em shut unless you are a billionaire 💸

Where on earth is the sandbox hidden?

The sandbox is craftily tucked away in the deck! There's a small secret hole for lifting the lid. Remember, always place the lid aside to avoid any 'sandy' accidents. After play, sweep up any stray sand to keep the deck neat. Oh, and always close the lid when not in use, unless you fancy turning it into the neighborhood cats' litter box!

🔥🏠✨ How do we enjoy the fireplace safely and keep the neighbors happy?

Welcome to the cozy world of fireplace mastery! First, a quick heads up: while igniting fires in the fireplace, remember to never use lighter fluid (it's a no-no for our beloved chimney).

Now, let's get toasty! You might want to grab some firewood on your way here, just in case the previous guests didn't leave any behind. You can find it at several spots in Simrishamn, like the gas station at the roundabout, Coop, or Byggmax.

Got your wood? Great! In the cabinet near the LP player, we've stocked some peat fire starters for you. Use them to get your fire roaring.

Here are some hot tips for a perfect fire:

1. Turn off the kitchen fan (set it to 0). Normally, it should be on 1, but not when you're playing with fire.

2. Open the lower vent to the left of the stove door, and crank the one under the door to maximum. Sometimes, a slightly open door does wonders for a stubborn fire. Still no luck? Try cracking open an exterior door for some extra air.

Remember:

- Only burn up to 3kg of wood per hour and for a maximum of 2 hours at a time. Then give the stove a break, as long as your burn time, to cool down the chimney (we don't want any cracks or fires!).

- Limit your fires to twice a day - one in the morning and one in the evening, to keep the chimney and neighbors smiling.

- For an efficient burn, stack your wood like a game of pick-up sticks - about four smaller pieces at the bottom, topped with a thicker one. Place 1-2 fire starters underneath and light them up. Once it's burning well, feel free to add more logs as needed.

Any questions? Just holler! Let's keep the fire burning and the vibes warm. 🔥🏠✨
