Why is the cheese yellow?
The green grass that the cows eat contains the fat-soluble yellow dye beta-carotene. The yellow passes from the food to the milk. The fact that it still appears white to us is due to the fact that the milk fat encloses the dye and thus makes it virtually invisible.
