How do I kick or ban someone from a Discord server?
As a server administrator or owner, you have the ability to kick or ban users from a Discord server. Here's how you can do it:
Kicking a User:
- Open Discord and log in to your account.
- Select the server where you want to kick a user.
- Locate the user's name either in the member list or in a specific channel's participant list.
- Right-click on the user's name or click on the three-dot icon next to their name to open a context menu.
- From the context menu, select "Kick <username>" (replace <username> with the actual username of the user you want to kick).
- A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to confirm the kick action. Review the information and reasons for kicking the user.
- Click on the "Kick" button to confirm and remove the user from the server. The user will be immediately kicked and will lose access to the server and its channels.
Banning a User:
- Follow steps 1 to 4 from the previous instructions to locate the user's name in Discord.
- From the context menu that appears, select "Ban <username>" (replace <username> with the actual username of the user you want to ban).
- A ban confirmation prompt will appear, providing options to specify the ban's duration (temporary ban) or set it as a permanent ban.
- Review the information and reasons for banning the user.
- Click on the "Ban" button to confirm the ban. The user will be immediately banned from the server, and they won't be able to rejoin unless the ban is lifted by a server administrator or owner.
